Peggye Gunnell Goetz

Born in Stuttgart, Arkansas on September 27, 1927, Peggye passed away on June 3, 2020 in Fairhope, AL. She was 92. Mrs. Goetz graduated from Methodist School of Nursing in Memphis, TN in 1949. She was a public health nurse for 25 years in rural Mississippi and Mobile County. She was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Springhill Baptist Church and Fairhope First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. (Jimmy) Goetz. They were married for 55 years. They had three children, James E. Goetz(Cynthia), Thomas A. Goetz(Valerie), Sue G. Schambeau(Daniel). Memaw was loved and blessed with 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 10am, where she will be buried next to her husband. Visitation will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 9 to 10 am Saturday.
