Regina Kay (Ames) McDaniel

1967-2019

Mrs. McDaniel passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Springhill Medical Center surrounded by family and friends in Mobile, AL. She attended Theodore  High School and graduated from Union County High School in 1985. She is survived by her parents Harold and Bernice (Wells) Ames;  three children: Kristen (Kelly) Stedman of Plainville, IN, Tyler (Amy) Dunford of Grand Bay, AL, Travis Butler (Liz Peters) of Mobile, AL; grandson Kolton Stedman, granddaughter Harper Dunford; sisters, Rebecca Ames (Steve) Whicker of Naples, FL, Rita Ames (Mike) Kennedy of Mobile, AL; niece, Britney (Corey) Bryan of Mobile, AL., Courtney (Taylor and Maddux) LaFontaine of Diamonhead, MS; nephews, Michael Kennedy and S. Keich Whicker; roommate and dear friend Richard Walker; many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Gerald and Georgia Wells of Morganfield, KY, Louis and Francis Ames of Dekoven, KY. Regina was known by all who knew her as a person who loved adventure and people, never meeting a stranger. She lived life in the extreme, always flying close to the sun. Her friends called her Beaner, Seena, the redheaded dynamo, the middle of three punkins, and Hippie Chick. She was an avid “ROLL TIDE” Alabama football fan, Car Show enthusiast and advocate for the underdog. She was musically gifted with a voice like Wynonna Judd and could play the piano by ear. God loved and gifted her with a fiery personality, beauty, brains, creativity, talent and a great sense of humor. She mattered to many and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilefuneralservice.com.
