William Ted Speed, age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Ted was a native of Seminary, Mississippi and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama. He was born to Joseph Lyman Speed and Betty Leggett Speed on March 12, 1943. He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Larry Speed.
He leaves behind to cherris his memory a loving and devoted wife, Elva Dean Speed; two daughters, Karen D. Speed and Beth Sink (Jimmy); one son, William Ted Speed II; one stepdaughter, Honey Jean Ainsworth; two stepsons, Christopher Anthony Ainsworth (Treavie) and Tracy Lee Ainsworth (Jessica); his blood grandchildren, Devan Sink (Lauren), Shelby Sink (Jesse); two step-grandchildren, Sierra Ainsworth (Tyler) and Savanah Ainsworth (Russell); two blood great-grandchildren, Amelia Sink and Charli Holland; and two step-great-grandchildren, Alyse SaRae Cooper and Jaycee Grace Temple.
He was the rock of his family and had an irreplaceable touch on everyone's soul. He lost his battle to Covid-19. The family is urging everyone to PLEASE take the precautions seriously!
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Dress is casual.
Ted will forever be missed and will be remembered by everyone who was blessed enough to come into contact with him. Heaven gained a wonderful Angel.
